Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while taking serious note of deaths in an incident due to consumption of toxic liquor in Ujjain 3 days ago, has given instructions to remove Superintendent of Police Ujjain. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan gave instructions in this regard at a meeting convened at his residence today. He also directed the suspension of the City Superintendent of Police (CSP) of the area concerned. It is to be mentioned that TI and other staff of Kharakuan police station of Ujjain have already been suspended after being found guilty of negligence in the incident. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed for strict action against the mafia involved in such illegal activities. He said that action should be taken by conducting a state wide continuous campaign.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan obtained the details as regard to the action taken in this case from Additional Chief Secretary Home Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, who was assigned the task to investigate in the incident in Ujjain. The Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was apprised of the arrests made in this case and the action taken against the guilty police and excise staff.Chief Minister Shri Chouhan directed to remove all the responsible police staff including additional SP of Ujjain. He has taken this decision taking very serious note of the incident happened in Ujjain. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that such incidents should not recur.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan instrcuted that illegal sale and trade of this type of intoxicants should be stopped under any situation. He further instructed that strictest punishment should be ensured to guilty in such cases. To ensure that beggars or extremely poor people should not be motivated to consume such items, restrictive action should be taken against those who supply these items to them. This activity should be conducted in the form of continuous campaign to avoid such incidents in future. The complete investigation report related to Ujjain incident is being prepared by the Home Department.
Take strict action in connection to murder of a minor, no one should be spared
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also instructed for strict action in a case of murder of a minor in Jabalpur. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that effective action should be taken to eliminate such criminals. No culprit should be spared. A.D.G. Intelligence Shri Adarsh Katiyar informed that the accused has been arrested in this case. A detailed investigation is being conducted in the case.

Superintendent of Police Ujjain removed
In compliance to the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Chouhan, the Superintendent of Police of Ujjain Shri Manoj Kumar Singh has been removed with immediate effect, following the order issued by the Home Department. In his place, Shri Satyendra Kumar Shukla, Superintendent of Police Shahdol has been posted as Superintendent of Police Ujjain. Shri Manoj Kumar Singh has been posted as Assistant Inspector General of Police, Police Headquarters, Bhopal. Shri Avadhesh Kumar Goswami Superintendent of Police P.T.C. Indore has been posted as Superintendent of Police, District Shahdol.
