MP TOURISM TO ORGANISE ‘TOUR DE SATPURA’ CYCLE TOUR

An enthralling tour of cycle tourism is being introduced by Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board first time in the State. A 400 km long four-day cycle tourism ‘Tour de Satpura’ is being organised by the board. About 50 cyclists from various States are expected to take part in this fascinating and adventurous cycle tour to be organised from August 19 to 22.

The ‘Tour de Satpura’ beginning from Ramakona village in Chhindwara district on August 19 will pass through captivating green valleys and pleasing roads of Satpura. Cycle riders covering a distance of 97 km from Chhindwara will reach Tamia first. They will visit the famous Patalkot here and restart their journey in the morning of day two to reach Pachmarhi covering a distance of 81 km passing through undulating and beautiful hillocks of Satpura. On day 3, the participants will cover a distance of 120 km to reach Madhai of Hoshangabad district passing through Pipariya and Sohagpur.

Besides, on day 4, the final day of the journey participants will cover a distance of 94 km to reach Tawa Dam passing through Babai and Itarsi. Concluding ceremony will be held at Tawa Resort where winners and participants will be awarded with prizes and certificates respectively. Cyclists from States like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and other States besides Sweden are taking part in this four day competition of cycle tourism. Renowned cyclists will share their experiences and their views on various aspects of cycling every evening during the tour.
