The objective of this scheme is to make available drinking water facility in the villages having more than 500 and less than 1000 population, which are devoid of any drinking water source. Under the scheme, more than 1200 drinking water sources are being developed in 1500 villages at a cost of Rs five crore. 1 lakh 28 thousand rural localities have been benefitted under he scheme so far. 5 lakh 22 thousand hand pumps have been installed across the state.

Rural Tap Water Scheme has reached 15 thousand 113 so far. 

Many small hamlets, which did not have any water source, now have their own drinking water sources because of this scheme.
