Under the scheme, free medical aid carrying up to Rs 1.50 lakh is provided to a patient belonging to BPL families. Out of this, Rs 25 thousand to Rs 75 thousand is sanctioned by the minister in charge and collector and Rs 75 thousand to Rs 1.50 lakh is provided by the Health Minister.
A poor man cannot even think of expensive medical treatment if he suffers from a chronic ailment. The scheme has come as a major relief to such poor patients.
